The Peterborough & The Kawarthas Home Builders Association has a long history of working with local municipalities, the Province of Ontario, and the Government of Canada to improve the quality of product available to potential home purchasers. The founding fathers of the local home building industry have set industry standards that we can all be proud of. Our job is simply to continue the high standards that they have set, and then improve on the quality of the product.

With rising energy costs and society becoming more environmentally aware, a “green” movement has begun in the construction industry. Our members are at the forefront of that movement, ensuring they are up to date with new developments in building technologies and construction practices. We are committed to building some of the most energy efficient and sustainable homes in the world.

In July, the harmonized sales tax will come into effect in Ontario. The introduction of this new tax structure will greatly impact the consumer and builder alike. As part of the Ontario Home Builders Association, our members have been working with all levels of government to ensure a smooth transition in the coming months.
